About Laundry Signs

Laundry Signs is a free tool for one small moment of confusion: standing at the washing machine, holding a garment, unable to decode its care label. Tap the symbols you see and get the whole-label verdict in plain words — the warmest safe wash, drying, ironing and bleach guidance, plus warnings when a label contradicts itself.

Everything runs 100% in your browser. There are no photo uploads, no accounts and no tracking — a deliberate choice, because care labels get read in dim laundromats on weak connections, where camera-based lookups fail. The decoder, the 37-symbol glossary, the printable pocket card and the guides all work in 8 languages.

Our symbol set follows ISO 3758:2023, the international care-labelling standard maintained with GINETEX. All icon drawings on this site are original renditions; the official GINETEX trademarks belong to their owners. Where North-American labels use extra marks outside ISO (like 3-dot high tumble heat), the glossary says so explicitly.
